My name is Hudson Harris. I am a Dallas, Texas native and current resident. My art endeavors started extremely young. I exhibited all of the typical traits of a bored, creative type through my childhood and education. Every note I took in school had mindless doodles and all of the creative projects brought out the the side of me considered “type A”. I always thought it was important to make presentations equally informative and aesthetic.

I developed these creative tendencies through a particular interest in wildstyle graffiti and 3D abstract street art. As a kid from the suburbs I never once felt out of place watching videos about the roots of graffiti, hip-hop culture, or breakdancing. I make no claim to be an ambassador to the hip-hop community or graffiti landscape, but I owe all of my desire to grow as an artist to that culture. As such, my interest for this style never waned, but my exposure to new artistic concepts began to creep in: Tattooing, realism, architecture, and ink styles (among many others) all hold real estate in my head.

“Take your passions, art, and goals seriously, but make sure to include those around you on your journey to success.”

But as with many people, life moved forward and I felt a responsibility to put art on the back-burner. I was lucky enough to attend Texas A&M University for four years and graduate with a job in-hand. For the next 5 years, and into present time, I have worked as a construction manager for a large commercial contractor and learned some of the most valuable lessons of my life. But art still remains a passion. For 9 years art existed only as a personal interest known to close friends and family. It wasn’t until after my second large project in the construction industry that I realized I couldn’t deny myself of my need to create art.

What started as an attempt to sell the occasional small artwork developed into a three-part goal; create a company that acts as a catalyst for my personal development as an artist, offer that platform of growth to artists in my community, and expand the scope the company to improve my community and art as an industry.

Through my experiences with art I learned a valuable lesson: Take your passions, art, and goals seriously but make sure to include those around you on your journey to success. I want to share the message that personal development and career growth should be rewarded at all levels, but only when the process improves the lives around us, not worsens. Blue Art Studio Company was created under these expectations.

To everyone interested in Blue Art Studio Company, I can’t thank you enough.
