ABOUT BLUE ART STUDIO COMPANY
A Passion Turned Business
Blue Art Studio Company is the incorporated studio of Dallas artist, Blue (Hudson Harris). Founded in 2021, Blue Art Studio Company was intended to be a private gallery to showcase artwork under the Blue name with one simple mission; make an online showcase as an excuse to stay creative. But as time pressed on, this excuse developed into something far more intentional - a need to stay creative. As a response to this development, the studio began it’s expansion from gallery to business.
Beginning in 2022, the expansion of Blue Art Studio Company underwent several changes in direction, style, and intent. But through the growing pains, our new mission started to become clear: Create an environment to showcase the artist’s full vision. As such, Blue Art Studio Company’s development plan is based on 3 tiers of growth:
THE START OF SOMETHING NEW
Produce Commissions, Original Artwork, and Art Prints.
Produce Custom Frames for mounting Blue Art.
Produce Custom Lighting, Accessories, and Furniture Designs to capture a complete artistic vision.
It is with a tremendous amount of excitement that we continue to grow the Blue name as a trusted source of art and design. We hope that you continue to follow our journey and only ask of you one thing: Stay Creative.
WHY THE RABBIT?
A brief history by the artist (Hudson Harris aka Blue)
Blue - the BASCo icon - comes from my first love in design; street art and graffiti. Among several factors like color, lack of rules, and aggressive presentation, one feature that stuck out was the symbolism an artist could create from their pseudonym, i.e. their street name. It focused people’s attention on the art and presentation and less on the personal life of the individual. It was a clever form of creativity and I was obsessed with finding one of my own. After months of passive and active thought, Blue ultimately came to me as a pre-teen while sitting in a doctor’s office reading a Highlights magazine. There was an image of a cliff that shared a resemblance to a rabbit sitting down with his arms folded. At the suggestion of my mother - I took the idea home to mull around. Days later I drew Blue’s image for the first time and decided last minute to add his signature sunglasses. His name, on the other hand, is less symbolic - it’s just my favorite color. Blue represents what I like to see in design; a combination of attitude, simplicity, and subtlety. Decades later these remain unchanged.
